This Site was Built to Test a Theory

The theory is:  People are willing to pay $1 to have someone else do their online research if it

  1. saves them a lot of time or
  2. gets them a higher quality answer or
  3. both of the above

Have you ever had a frustrating time trying to find something online?  My personal experience is that its not uncommon to fire up a browser and start looking for something that feels like it should have a straightforward answer, only to find that an hour later you're still pouring through links without any end in sight.

Maybe you're looking for answers on an obscure topic and you find yourself sifting through poorly written content of dubious value (e.g. What's the best western-style restaurant in the Happy Valley neighborhood of Hong Kong).  Other times the topic is more common and there is a glut of information online, but the challenge becomes finding an authoritative source that's relevant to your particular case (e.g. what legal entity should I choose for my internet startup.)

Lately I've been brainstorming ideas about how to relieve myself of these kinds of search frustrations.  One thought I had was:  would I pay a small amount of money if it spared me an hour or more of trouble?  If someone offered me a quick answer to a question, which included a brief explanation of why the answer was what it was and, lets say, a few reference links to corroborate the claims or provide for more in-depth reading -- If I was offered all of that, would it be worth a dollar to me?   My answer was yes.

If your answer is also yes, submit your question and I will get you an awesome, thoroughly researched an annotated answer to it and email you when its ready.
